Jeff Garland's interest in capturing and preserving images of fading architectural details and elements of once-great buildings in Detroit began with a visit to the Michigan Theatre, after its unfortunate conversion to a parking garage.
So many grand buildings have gone, some are fading, and many still remain. His photographs capture the grandeur and the sadness, but remain hopeful and inspiring.
Hopefully this collection of photographs will spark new interest in the preservation of our architectural heritage while they speak as artful additions to the contemporary landscape.
